2009 Royal Copenhagen Christmas Plate

No other Christmas Plate collection in the world can rival the long and wonderful history of Danish Christmas plates. Right up to the present day, every single year has seen the launch of a plate with changing motif taken from Denmark's countryside, history and tradition. It is the 102nd edition. "Christmas at Amagertorv " shows one of the oldest and best preserved houses in central Copenhagen, the house found in Amager Torv ( Amager Square), is the beautiful setting where Royal Copenhagen has run its shop since 1884. This prominent building in Amager Torv was erected in 1616 for Mathias Hansen, who was the mayor of Copenhagen.
