How do I use the Advanced Search?

Our Advanced Search is designed to help you find specific items you are looking in a more timely and accurate fashion If you have never used an Advanced Search before I have provided instructions below.
STEP 1. Enter the name of the item you are looking for.
STEP 2. If you want to see all the items in our store that relate to this word, then leave the setting in option 2 to ALL ARTISTS. If you want to select a Specific Artist or line of work, Hummel for example, then use the scroll bar on the right hand side of the Step 2 window to scroll down until you locate the name. Highlight the name with your curser.
Step 3. This option can be used if you know the specific name of the designer who designed the item you are looking for. This option can only be used if you have made a selection in option 2.
For the most part, you will probably never need to use option 3 unless you are seeking out a certain designer's art work. For example, if you wanted to go in and see what pieces are available on this site for Gerhard Skrobek, you would use the scroll bar in option 3 to locate and highlight his name. If you have not selected an artist name in Step 2, you will not be able to see which artists are on the list. (It is suggested you do not fill in option 1 if you are looking for a specific designer's art work.)
Step 4. This option allows you to select from the various categories on the site. If you just want to browse the categories then use
the option 4 only. This will generate a large number of items and may take a little while but you will then see all that we have available in this particulary category.

Example #1 You are looking for a "cat" made by Hummel that your wife/husband had mentioned.
1. In Option # 1, you would type in the word cat.
2. In option #2, you would just move the scroll bar on the left side of the box, down to show the word Hummel.
3. You then just highlight the word Hummel.
4. In Option # 3, since you do not know the name of the designer just leave it at the default setting of ALL DESIGNERS. Leaving this at the default is recommended, as selecting the wrong artist could result in a message "NO ITEMS FOUND".
5. In Option 4, you can leave it at the default of ALL CATEGORIES.
6. You are now ready to click the SEARCH button.
The search will create a page for you with the results according to your selected criteria.

Example #2
Your friend is collecting the Hummel figurines in the Nativity Set. You would like to purchase them a gift but do not what is available. The example below will show you how to find out what items are available.
1. Leave the KEYWORD box in Option 1 blank. Do not type anything in this box.
2. In option 2, select the name Hummel by pulling the scroll bar down along the left hand side of this box.
3. Leave it at the default setting of ALL DESIGNERS.
4. In Option 4, you click on the arrow to the right of the words All CATEGORIES. This will open up the window to show you a list of all the categories on the site. When you see Nativity Set, just
click on this to highlight it.
(If the category is not listed, use the scroll bar to the left to move down the list. In this example search, Nativity Set is at the top of the list so you will not need to scroll down.)
5. OK, now you are ready to click on the Search button.
This should create a page for you that will show you all the
Hummel figurines related to Nativity Set.

I hope this helps those of you who are new to using the Advanced Search techniques.
As you become more comfortable with this, you can easily locate items on the site without having to browse through numerous pages. You will also find this a great way to discover new items of interest that you were not familiar with.
For fun, you might want to experiment by only selecting a category in option 4,leaving all other options at the default settings. This will show you the different styles of the different artists.
