Five carefully selected plates and plaquettes are therefor being issued from 2004 onwards. The last of the selected plates and the the 2008 edition was originally issued in 1908 and shows the
Virgin Mary with the Baby Jesus.. The Christian Danish Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus, and this motif marked the start of a whole century of Christmas plates.
