Description:
Royal Copenhagen is launching a new hand painted service called Blue Palmette. The service has been created by the product development team at the factory in Glostrup, who have taken their starting point from Asian culinary traditions.
The service is decorated with fragments from the Blue Fluted service, combined in a new and exciting way. The name Palmette refers to the 230 year old blue fluted decoration, palmette being a technical term for the stylized palm leaf which is hand painted on all pieces.
Inspiration from the Asian kitchen
Blue Palmette consist of just 11 pieces. The inspiration for the shapes comes from the Asian kitchen, where they do not dish up individual portions but place bowls and dishes in the middle of the table. The 11 pieces have carefully been selected so they fulfill all the needs of a simple and functional service, which has endless possibilities.
For this reason there are four plate sizes, a large oval dish and a small dish and bowls in two sizes, one with and one without a lid, a spoon and lastly a cup. The cup does not have a saucer, because saucers are not used in Asia, however, it can be used equally well for coffee, tea, sake or for rice and dessert.
