Auguste (Pierre A.) Renoir. Born in 1844 in Limoges, died 1919 in Cagnes near Nice.
After studying as a porcelain painter,Auguste Renoir entered Gleyre's studio in 1861. Renoir started work in the French Realist tradition (Courbet) and was considered an Impressionist until the mid 1870s. His Paintings are full of charm and light.
